TAPE LAYER & MATERIAL INTRODUCTION

Tape Structure

Two Layer Carr Adh

Carrier

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
PVC is a durable, flexible, and water-resistant plastic that provides good insulation and resistance to moisture, chemicals, and abrasion. It has excellent conformability, making it ideal for wrapping and sealing applications.
Which is applied in Electrical insulation tapes, pipe wrapping tapes, surface protection tapes, and warning or marking tapes.

PE (Polyethylene)
PE is a lightweight, flexible, and stretchable plastic material with good moisture resistance. It offers decent tensile strength and is used in both single-layer and foam tapes, providing flexibility and cushioning, which is applied in protective films, foam tapes, and waterproofing tapes.

PET (Polyester)
Polyester is a strong, durable, and heat-resistant plastic carrier with excellent dimensional stability. It’s commonly used in high-performance tapes where resistance to chemicals, heat, and UV is required, such as electrical insulation tapes, and tapes for electronic and industrial applications.

Paper
Paper is an eco-friendly, biodegradable, and recyclable tape carrier. It has good printability, making it ideal for branding and labeling. Depending on the grade, it can be reinforced for strength or left as crepe paper for flexibility and ease of tear. Paper is commonly applied in masking tapes, kraft paper packaging tapes, gummed paper tapes, and crepe paper tapes for painting or bundling.

Cloth (Fabric)
Cloth-based carriers, made from materials like cotton, acetate, or polyester, are strong, flexible, and offer high tear resistance. They provide durability and conformability, even on rough or uneven surfaces. Cloth tapes are often coated with rubber or acrylic adhesives for added strength, which is applied in duct tapes, gaffer tapes, cloth duct tapes, and binding or bundling tapes in electrical and automotive industries.

Glass Cloth
Glass cloth is a woven fiberglass material known for its excellent strength, heat resistance, and durability. It can withstand extreme temperatures and is often used in high-performance, high-temperature applications, which is commonly used as electrical insulation tapes, high-temperature masking tapes, and tapes used in industrial and aerospace applications.

Aluminum & Cooper Foil
Aluminum & cooper foil is a metal-based tape carrier that offers excellent heat resistance, conductivity, and moisture/UV protection. It is highly durable and reflective, making it suitable for use in extreme temperature environments, which is common used as HVAC tapes, sealing tapes for ducts, reflective insulation tapes, and tapes used in automotive and aerospace applications for heat shielding.

Foam (PE, EPDM, EVA, PU)
Foam carriers, such as polyethylene (PE), ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), or polyurethane (PU), offer excellent shock absorption, sound insulation, and sealing properties. Foam tapes provide cushioning and vibration damping, which is widely used in sealing, cushioning, vibration damping, weatherproofing, and mounting in automotive, construction, and electronic applications.

Acetate Cloth
Acetate cloth is a type of fabric carrier with good flexibility and insulation properties, making it suitable for electrical applications. It is often used in tapes where conformability and heat resistance are necessary, which is used as electrical insulation tapes, coil wrapping, and cable harnessing in automotive and electronics.

Polyimide
Polyimide is a high-temperature, flexible plastic with excellent dielectric properties. It can withstand extreme temperatures and is highly resistant to chemicals, making it ideal for insulating electrical components, which is used as electrical insulation tapes, circuit board masking tapes, and high-temperature applications like aerospace and electronics.

Adhesive

Acrylic Adhesive
Acrylic adhesives are water- or solvent-based and offer excellent long-term bonding. They are resistant to environmental factors like UV light, temperature fluctuations, and aging, making them suitable for outdoor and harsh conditions, which are generally uses in packaging tapes, automotive applications, and bonding outdoor surfaces.

Solvent Acrylic Adhesive
Solvent acrylic adhesives are formulated with organic solvents as the carrier, which makes them more aggressive in terms of initial tack (stickiness) and bonding. They offer faster adhesion and excellent durability under extreme conditions such as high heat, cold, and exposure to chemicals. These adhesives tend to be more resistant to moisture, chemicals, and outdoor conditions compared to water-based acrylic adhesives, making them ideal for challenging environments, which are uses as outdoor tape, automotive marine tape, industrial tape.

Hot Melt Adhesive
Hot melt adhesives are made from thermoplastic resins that are applied when heated. They provide a strong, quick bond but are less resistant to high temperatures and UV exposure compared to acrylic adhesives, which are uses in BOPP packaging tapes, sealing cartons, and general-purpose packing in moderate environments.

Rubber Adhesive
Rubber adhesives (natural or synthetic) offer excellent initial tack (stickiness) and bond quickly to most surfaces. However, they are less resistant to heat, UV, and aging than acrylic adhesives, which is commonly use in electrical insulation tapes, general-purpose tapes, and temporary bonding applications.

Silicone Adhesive
Silicone adhesives are highly resistant to extreme temperatures, chemicals, and moisture. They maintain adhesion over a wide temperature range and are often used in specialized or harsh environments, which is uses in high-temperature electrical insulation tapes, marine applications, and sealing components exposed to chemicals or extreme heat.

Butyl Adhesive
Butyl adhesives are known for their excellent waterproofing properties and high resistance to moisture, UV light, and chemicals. They are flexible and remain durable in a wide range of temperatures, which is uses in sealing tapes, waterproofing tapes, and sealing joints in automotive and construction applications.
